MedGlobal is inviting applications for the position of Communication Officer for its humanitarian health programmes in Bangladesh. The position will be based at the organization's Field Office in Cox's Bazar and will report directly to the Country Representative.
The Communication Officer will be responsible for communication, documentation and knowledge management activities related to MedGlobal's maternity and referral centre, health posts, training activities, humanitarian health response and other programme requirements.

Position Summary
The Communication Officer will lead communication and documentation activities across MedGlobal's humanitarian health programmes. The role involves developing communication materials, documenting programme processes and achievements, preparing reports and stories, supporting media engagement, maintaining digital archives and ensuring that programme communications comply with organizational branding standards.
The successful candidate will also support field visits, collect information for case studies and success stories, and coordinate with programme teams and headquarters to meet communication and reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Knowledge Management and Communication – 75%
The Communication Officer will:
Design communication and branding materials for internal and external audiences.
Support audio-visual production and multimedia communication.
Develop creative communication concepts and turn them into practical communication products.
Prepare, write and edit programme materials, including reports, press releases, blog posts and social media content.
Produce communication and promotional materials in accordance with organizational branding standards.
Support photography, videography and web-related activities.
Use relevant design and multimedia software for communication production.
Promote organizational content through appropriate digital and social media channels.
Monitor communication activities and prepare reports on campaign performance.
Conduct field visits and collect information for case studies, human-interest stories and programme success stories.
Maintain and organize programme photographs, videos and other communication materials.
Ensure important communication and programme data are properly preserved in the relevant digital drives.
Support online meetings, documentation sharing, uploading and other digital communication activities.
Work beyond regular working hours when required in the interest of humanitarian operations.
Travel to field locations as required.
2. Networking – 15%
The position will also involve:
Working with communication team members to develop communication strategies and campaigns.
Responding to media inquiries and supporting media outreach.
Developing communication escalation procedures for potential communication crises.
Representing MedGlobal at relevant external meetings when requested.
Following up with headquarters colleagues after meetings.
Identifying potential partnership opportunities with health-sector actors, UN agencies, NGOs and other stakeholders.
Maintaining professional relationships with relevant organizations and stakeholders.
3. Other Duties – 10%
Additional responsibilities include:
Supporting the development and updating of organizational documents.
Maintaining digital media archives, including photographs and videos.
Working closely with relevant departments and submitting periodic reports.
Participating in meetings as directed by the Country Representative and headquarters management.
Performing other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Required Skills and Competencies
Candidates should demonstrate:
Strong communication skills in both Bangla and English.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Strong report writing, news writing and editing skills.
Good presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Familiarity with Google Workspace and other online collaboration platforms.
Experience with digital documentation, file sharing and online meeting platforms.
Knowledge of multimedia, web and digital communication tools.
Skills in photography and videography.
Understanding of NGO, humanitarian and public-sector environments.
Understanding of Bangladesh's health system and related public health issues.
Ability to work effectively with clinical staff, programme teams, beneficiaries and external stakeholders.
Ability and willingness to travel regularly to field locations.
Technical Skills
Experience with professional design and multimedia software will be highly relevant to this position. Candidates may be expected to have experience with tools such as:

Educational Qualification
Applicants should have a university degree in one of the following or a related field:

A related discipline
